2009 brings a new season of sixteen great feature films, an expansion of Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About The Movies (But Were Too Afraid To Ask) Forum program and an opportunity for over 50s to explore the world of digital media and to make short films through the workshop program.
Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About The Movies (But Were Too Afraid To Ask) was a big hit in 2008 and left audiences wanting more. This year we’ll give seniors an even bigger opportunity to experience life as a screen studies student, with four sessions, each focusing on a particular film genre.
Listen to an introduction by Adelaide’s premiere critical commentator on films, Shane McNeil, watch a classic film of the genre and finish the session with a open discussion. The Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About The Movies sessions form a part of the main screening program, please check the screening guide for more details.
The Seniors on Screen program starts on August 14th and continues until December 4th.
Only $5 per session for Seniors which includes free tea, coffee and biscuits.
Non-seniors are also welcome at the screening and forum program at standard Mercury Cinema prices ($12 full/$10 Concession).
