The Members Production Group (MPG) is a professional development initiative of the MRC. The MPG makes it easier for MRC members to make films, videos and digital media projects, by providing fully subsidised access to MRC equipment and facilities.

In 2007 the MPG has been extremely busy making the most of their subsidy! They have supported the production of 3 films and a rigourous development process as part of the ongoing production initiative The Company in partnership with AC Arts Performance, Flinders University Screen Studies and the Helpmann Academy.

The Company films will screen at the Mercury Cinema at 6pm on Friday December 14 as part of Karma Cup. Gold coin donation for members, $9 for non-members.

The group created the 16mm initiative for filmmakers to get back to the original film production method by shooting, editing and screening on film. The finished films were played as part of SALA 2007. Successful participants were Maxx Corkindale, Ben Safta, Ben Pahl Robinson and Dan Monceaux & Emma Sterling.

They have funded through the AIDC Fringe a pitching competition which resulted in a short documentary “For the Love of Jade” by Tracey Alexander and Nicole Wilkins.

They have also supported Nick Godfrey in the production of a documentary on bands playing Alleyway shows in South Australia.
