AIDC 2012 CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

MONDAY 27 FEBRUARY – THURSDAY 1 MARCH 2012
STAMFORD GRAND GLENELG, SOUTH AUSTRALIA

The AIDC is seeking enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to work during its Conference being held in Adelaide at the Stamford Grand Hotel Glenelg, from Monday 27 February to Thursday 1 March, 2012.

The Australian International Documentary Conference is a must-attend event for documentary film makers, buyers and the broadcasting industry. It is the largest event of its kind in the southern hemisphere and last year attracted over 500 national and international delegates. Volunteer positions are available in the following areas:

Registration Desk / Information Desk
Be the first point of call for Speakers and Delegates. Help 500 delegates register and work alongside our team to answer questions about what’s on, when and where.

Front of House
Meet and greet delegates, and usher them smoothly in and out of sessions. Help with Q&A sessions.

Marketplace
Assist the Marketplace team to run: MeetMarket (one-on-one pitching session meetings between Content Makers and Content Seekers); The Editors’ Hour sessions (technical know-how of laptops, DVD’s and monitors an advantage) and the general Marketplace Information Desk.

Site & Stage Assistant
Support the Production Manager and Operations Staff at the Conference venue.

First Factual Films Festival (F4)
Assist the F4 team with festival management, guest liaison, ushering, F4 information and general front of house duties.

Special Events & Guest Services
Assist at the Opening and Closing Events with setup, signage and manning the “door”. Assist with guest
management and liaison. Assist delegates in the exclusive P2P room.

If you are looking to gain some real life experience in managing arts events, an emerging filmmaker or simply someone who loves to challenge themselves – we want to hear from you! To become part of this exciting event volunteers will be required to work roughly 2 days in exchange for 2 days attendance to the event.
